About Nursing Homes Malaysia
Finding the right care home for an ageing parent is one of the hardest, most emotional decisions a family makes — often under time pressure. Nursing Homes Malaysia exists to make that first step simpler: a single place to find and compare licensed care centres across the country. The directory is an initiative by Project DEO.
What we do
We aggregate every residential care centre listed on the Malaysian Department of Social Welfare (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, JKM) Pusat Jagaan registry — over 1,000 facilities across all 16 states — and present them in one searchable directory. You can filter by state and town, care type (elderly, disabled/OKU, mixed), operator type, and licence status, then get directions to any centre via Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps.
How we verify listings
Each facility is matched against the public JKM registry, which records a centre’s registration number and licence validity dates. We label every centre’s status clearly:
- Licensed — the centre holds a current JKM licence at the time of our last update.
- Unverified — the JKM licence has lapsed, or the location is listed on the operator’s own website but does not (yet) appear on the JKM registry. Please confirm licensing directly with the operator and JKM.
We also flag centres whose operators are members of AGECOPE (the Association for Residential Aged Care Operators of Malaysia), a voluntary industry body.
Who runs this directory
Nursing Homes Malaysia is an initiative by Project DEO, part of the Life Care Systems group, which also operates Genesis Life Care — one of the centres listed in this directory. We disclose that openly. Regardless of affiliation, every centre — including Genesis’s — is ranked and displayed using the same criteria (licence status, listing completeness, distance to you). No operator can pay to appear or to rank higher, and a listing does not imply our endorsement. Our goal is simply to help families start their search with clear, factual information.

Directory information is compiled from public records and operator websites and may contain errors or become out of date. It is not a recommendation or a substitute for your own due diligence.
